Discover What is The Beauty of Natural Lip Care

Keeping your lips looking moist and fresh is not an easy task! What is the beauty of  “Natural Lip Care”? Well, in this post I think you will be able to achieve this with minimum fuss!

When thinking about “what is the beauty of natural lip care” it means giving your body, and by default your lips, the best natural conditions to remain beautiful, moist and lush.

Lip Moisture

Moisture to your lips usually comes from the quantity of water you drink. The rule of thumb says to drink at least 2 liters of water a day, that is 8 glasses of 300 ml of water – not coffee, tea, diluted juice, cola, fresh fruit juices…those don’t count!

Eating your greens and fruits keep the ph balance in your body, which plays an important part in retaining the quantity of moisture in your body and distributing it appropriately.

Climate Care

Keeping out of the sun, putting on sunscreen and or wearing a hat will not only protect your fragile facial skin but your lips too. Lips can get dehydrated easily when exposed too long to the sun. Sun-screened lip balm will protect your lips tremendously!

Wind will dry you out just a quick as the sun will, and can cause much uneasiness. The screen protection that sun-screened lip-balm offers will protect your lips from both the sun and wind.

Hidden Abuse

You possibly are wondering – what do I mean by “hidden abuse”?! Well, in simple words the un-thought of actions we do with and to our lips throughout the days and weeks, be it smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol or anything else that you might do with your lips which you are not meant to do – lip piercing of one!

Try and think back what actions have you done in the last week that might have been considered “abusive” to your lips but you did not think twice about it – including erroneously biting you lip while eating lunch…because you were stressed out or in a hurry to finish, so to get back to the office?

Lip Sores (Canker Sores)

Sometimes, when biting your, or being stressed out, or not getting enough sleep you can get nasty little sores that can last up to two weeks on your lips or in your mouth. Canker sores are prevalent more in women then men and are not contagious – but they are painful!

Why do I bring up Canker sores here in this post? Because when we “get” these little “gems” they are a sure sign of certain imbalance in our diet which directly affect our lips and their beauty!

There is no definite cause behind Canker sores (mouth ulcers). However, there are certain elements and triggers have been recognized. These include:

  • minor mouth injury from dental work, hard brushing, sports injury, or accidental bite
  • toothpastes and mouth rinses that contain sodium lauryl sulfate
  • food sensitivities to acidic foods like strawberries, citrus, and pineapples, and other trigger foods like chocolate and coffee
  • lack of essential vitamins, especially B-12, zinc, folate, and iron
  • allergic response to mouth bacteria
  • dental braces
  • hormonal changes during menstruation
  • emotional stress or lack of sleep
  • bacterial, viral, or fungal infections

One great natural remedy that I have found useful with dealing with these “gems” is Baking Soda. Baking soda is an alkaline and will neutralize acids that irritate the canker sore; it also helps kill bacteria to help your sore heal quickly. For a cure, try this home remedy: Rinse your mouth with a solution of 1 teaspoon baking soda in 1/2 cup of warm water.

My Conclusion

So when asking what is the beauty of natural lip care, I think that in this short post I have answered the “mystery”!  It is all very basic, really, only we need to be aware of it and make our commitment to actually do it!

Now a days, there are a lot of ‘quick fixes’ and, sure, they are helpful, but they don’t hold in the long run. So what will you choose? Personally, I would go for both!

If you have more ideas and tips to suggest, please do let me know in the comment box below, I would love to hear from you!

  1. I always forget about the right amount of water(8 glasses) But now I think I will write it down on my note paper to remember this important information. My wife keep doing remedies for her beauty , One of the natural ingredients that she is doing every while is putting cinnamon oil for lips , Do you think it is useful ? and will really effect usefully ?

    1. HI Basset, thanks for your input. Yes, cinnamon oil is great for lips but not for long term moisturizing. It is more for a pirk up and clean up of the lips, usually done once every two weeks or so.  Keeping your lips moist is a matter of daily care – that is where lip balms come in, and of course water consumption.

  2. While surfing the Net, I ran across this post and what caught my attention was theHeadline and the lips. As I scanned further I saw plenty that will interest my wife and other women as well. However being a man I could only appreciate much but not In-depth . Do you have anything for men over fifty or is this a post just for women, which I am guessing it isn’t?

    1. Hello Maurice, Thank you for your in depth comment. I guess this post and all of my post up to now have been aimed at the women population, though many of the tips and tricks presented here and the health care too are good and necessary for both men and women. I do intend on adding more post aiming at men as well, as I do know that you too have special needs to attend to =)
Cheers for now and Enjoy Your Beauty… Orion

  3. I am sorry I could not edit my post so I wanted to correct it here. My last question should have read: Do you have anything for men over fifty or is this a post just for women, which I am guessing it is?
